London Inter Livery Pancake Race - Things to do for Pancake Day 2023

Are you ready for some flipping good fun? Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday, is fast approaching and London is gearing up for a day full of delicious pancakes and exciting events.

Mark your calendars because in 2023, Shrove Tuesday will be on February 21st. And trust me, you don't want to miss it.

One of the highlights of Pancake Day in London is the Worshipful Company of Poulters' Inter Livery Pancake Race. This annual event sees teams of four people dressed in fancy dress or regalia racing around the Guildhall Yard, flipping pancakes as they go. The winners are awarded frying pans in addition to a trophy, and all of the proceeds from the event go to charitable organizations.

The Pancake Day races usually last until around 1:30 in the afternoon, so you've got plenty of time to get a good view and cheer on your favorite team. And if the crowds are a little much at first, just hang back and wait for them to thin out as there are multiple heats.

And let's not forget about the pancakes! They'll be available for sale at the event, this means you can indulge in some delicious, fluffy pancakes while you watch the races and cheer on your favorite team.

So don't miss out on the fun. Grab some friends and head to London on Pancake Day for a day full of excitement and delicious treats. See you there!
